BAD ASS ART – HORROR MEETS MUSIC EDITION
At no point in human history has there been such available information regarding damn near anything. There’s also technology, allowing one to become proficient at any craft without having to seek out and seduce a master. Modern artist and digital artist are now roughly synonymous.
Unfortunately, the modern art renaissance is being overlooked. Art appreciation is at an all time low, this coming from a writer who honestly doesn’t read much. It’s a side effect of environment, but it’s easily fixed.
Take a little time away from the Black Cube of Saturn, and spend it staring at a painting. And don’t stop with your eyes.
Jump in. Climb the fence, slap the farmer, go inside the barn, interact with your imagination. Adults forget how to play, which is sad. We were nailing it at five when we collaborated on a dinosaur or army fantasy, why did we ever stop? Adults can still play, and art is a good way to engage the left side of your brain.
We like the low brow here at Live it Bad Ass. Honesty and direct language are great modes for communication.
This is our ode to Sean Maldjian, who combines horror movies and songs into works of art.
Not only do I love the concept, he kills the execution. Horror and the ecstasy of music might seem unrelated, but look at Sean’s work. There is something almost zen about the series, where each piece remains calmly serene in the face of even horror’s disorder. Music is the universal language, and fear is part of the human experience.
Stand strong and rock on LIBA nation, take a tour down nostalgia road with decades of memorable songs and scary movies.
Without further ado, this is the Bad Ass Art, Horror Meets Music Edition. Our feature on Sean Maldjian.
