Family Feud is the game show everyone plays wrong.
Stop thinking so idealistically about your family and be realistic.
Just because you slapped the buzzer first and have a chance to play doesn’t mean you should. This is Family Feud, a simple game. If there are eight answers and the top answer was only worth 22 points, you are not going to get them all.
It’s a 100 person data set, if there aren’t five answers or less, it’s a trap.
Burden the other family with it, and use the opportunity to figure out which answer you are going to steal with when they fail.
Instead, families throw their hands up like they’ve made some grand tactical move by pressing a button and choosing to play. No idiot, you just screwed your family. Not only are you about to lose, your loved ones get to be humiliated in front of a live and national TV audience. Brutal. Or you could get control of yourself, don’t be overwhelmed by the quick dopamine shot of ‘having won’ the showdown. Calmly look over to your family, who will be screaming at you to play, and pass. You’ll be everyone’s hero when you steal it right back by delivering a single answer. So if you are ever looking directly at Steve Harvey’s bald head on Family Feud, show some composure, and do right by your family.
