Original Badass Model – Rianna Carpenter Edition
Here at Live It Badass, we know women are more than babes in bikinis. We know they are fierce warriors with careers and hobbies. Unlike other sites, we don’t want to simply showcase the Physical and obvious. We want you to see that our Original Badass Models are extraordinary in every sense of the word.
Without further ado, we give you Rianna Carpenter!
There are things in life that are guarantees. Death, taxes and women that will captivate you in every way. The Combat Barbie is that woman. For Live it Badass, the opportunity to interview Rianna was a huge deal. It’s not everyday that we get a break like this, and securing the honor was no easy task. We messaged and commented on Rianna’s IG for a few months. She was always polite but never committed. Well she finally did, and it was more than we could have ever asked for. She checks every box on the dream girl checklist. Beautiful, small, curvy, funny, looks great in anything, smarter than you, business savvy, goal oriented, and as selfless as they come! I was nervous before calling, but the sound of her soft voice could calm a wild bear. Something about those California girls!
I started the call like all of the others. I thanked her for taking the time out of her day and gave her a history of how we became Live It Badass. We dove right in after that. Starting with her Moniker (The Combat Barbie)
Greg – Combat Barbie. I really love the persona you have created with this title. Can you tell me how this came to be?
Rianna – Yeah, first let me say I am happy you realize it is a persona and not who I am. I don’t run around in Bikinis and picture ready all of the time.
Greg – I can literally hear the hearts of our readers breaking!
Rianna – I know right! So Combat Barbie. This is a long story but here we go. I joined the Marines in 2011. I have always been a very small girl. Not the typical girl that you think would be a Marine. One day we were all at the shooting range. A pic was snapped of me in my fatigues and while I was on my knees. A pretty popular website who I will not name got a hold of the picture and said something pretty crappy. It was along the lines of “She will get marksmen, she is already in position on her knees. Who does she think she is, Combat Barbie?” At first I did not like the attention and the comments were really rude and I didn’t know how to handle it. People were searching and finding me on my personal social media and saying real nasty things. I shut all of them down and kind of went into hiding.
Greg – Wow! People are so shitty.
Rianna – Yes they are. One day I found some strength and confidence and told myself. I am not going to let this hurt me anymore. I am beautiful and strong. I am The Combat Barbie. If I called myself that and made it positive then no one could hurt me. Now the name is trademarked and belongs to me and me only.
Greg – That reminds me of a Game of Thrones Quote from the character Tyrion Lannister “Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor and it can never be used to hurt you.”
Rianna – Yes, exactly. I love that! That’s exactly what I am doing. I want the Combat Barbie to be a movement to inspire people.
Greg – Outside of Modeling and selling shirts what else in on your radar?
Rianna – Yes absolutely. I just started going to college after being in the Marines for the past 7 years. I am studying Communication and Journalism. I would really like to be a News Reporter someday!
Greg – I could see that. You have the voice and the look to do it. So now we are going to break some hearts. I see that you are recently married. How did you meet the luckiest guy in the world?
Rianna – Yes I am married. Honestly, we met on Instagram. He had sent me a message and was flirty. I flirted back. He then sent me a message before New Years. He told me that he really wanted to be my New Years kiss and really wanted to meet me and was willing to fly and meet me. Honestly what did we have to lose? I thought, wow, this is a confident man and he is great looking. So I said yes. We met on New Year’s Eve. He was my first kiss and it was history since then. I fell in love with him right away!
Greg – That is amazing. You know how many people are going to sliding into DM’s now! You are such a motivational person. I bet girls look up to you. What is your message or best advice to young girls?
Rianna – Well, my message is for everyone really. “Be yourself and don’t hide. Life is too short to hide.”
Rianna had me in awe, so talented and inspirational. I could have talked to her for hours or honestly just listen to the stories of her life. I didn’t want to move into the lightening round but glad that I did.
Greg – Favorite Food?
Rianna-My favorite food is really a snack. I looove chips with fresh authentic Mexican salsa! Maybe it’s the Cali-girl in me. My grandma Emilia makes the best in the world!
Greg – Favorite Color?
Rianna-My favorite color is yellow. I can’t figure out why… Haha And of course, what kind of “Combat Barbie” would I be if I didn’t also love pink?!
Greg – Favorite Band?
Rianna -My favorite band is Kacey Musgraves and her crew. From her very first album, I’ve been enchanted by her lyrics because she understands exactly what it’s like being a girl who grew up in a small country town, and her positive/carefree spirit perfectly relates to mine. She just gets it. I was so happy to personally meet her a few months back.
Greg – Favorite type of Music?
Rianna -My favorite type of music is Country/Western. Nowadays, it isn’t cool to sing about tractors, trucks, little towns, or love for your family, but Country music still does! And Country music is the ONLY genre that continuously makes songs honoring our troops, and shares pride for our country and the ol’ Red, White, and Blue. You can’t find that in a rap, rock, alternative, reggae, or pop song. I like those other genres, but my Country wins my heart.
Greg – What is your Guilty Pleasure?
Rianna -My biggest guilty pleasure is Dr. Pepper! I know it’s bad to drink soda but every now and then I just have to crack a cold one open and chug it down! Haha. My family are the ones to blame for this addiction. They are all hooked on Dr. Pepper and drink it like water, and they would even put it in my sippy-cups as a child. But hey, I ain’t complaining.
Greg – Who would play you in a movie?
Rianna – Who would play me in a movie? That’s a tough question. I honestly think one of my two sisters could play the part. They know me better than anyone, and know how to mimic me perfectly.
Greg – What bothers you? What is your pet peeve?
Rianna -My biggest pet peeve is seeing someone judge someone else so harshly, when they themselves are not perfect, no one is. And they don’t take the time to think about what it’s like being in that other person’s shoes. They don’t open their minds and try to rationalize what’s going on in that other person’s head. I’ve judged people in the past, and I’ve definitely had a wake-up call since then, and feel guilty ever doing so. We are all human and thus, we all make mistakes and we are all different in our own ways, SO we should all love each other equally.
Greg – Who is your Hollywood crush?
Rianna -The only “Hollywood Crush” that I have ever had was Frank Sinatra. He just possessed such a gentlemen’s charm. I know every word to all of his songs, and occasionally I drink wine and ask my husband to dance around the living room with me to them.
Greg – What is the best pickup line that has ever worked on you?
Rianna -I’ve heard quite a few pick-up lines, but honestly, the only one that worked was my husband’s. He was a complete stranger and he slid right into my DM’s and boldly asked, “So when are we getting married?” And then flew across the U.S just to be my New Year’s kiss! I’m attracted to confidence and persistence, and that definitely blew me away. Take notes boys.
Greg – Clothes or no Clothes?
Rianna -Clothes or no clothes? NO CLOTHES! I’m happiest when I’m naked. I feel completely free and empowered. No one should feel ashamed or have to hide themselves. Heck, we were all born butt-naked, and we ALL have flaws. The human body is amazing. I think more people should embrace their bodies, including their flaws.
Greg – What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
Rianna – I said I like to be naked and feel empowered. Well, I went Skydiving Naked!!!
