THE ONLY BILLION DOLLAR FIGHT IN PRIZE FIGHTING
Prize fighting is about one thing, the big drama show. Manufacture it, and untold riches could be yours. Look at Conor Mcgregor versus Floyd Mayweather, a fight where the outcome was beyond obvious. The hype was there, and so it was the biggest fight in recent memory. But it didn’t crack a billion dollars, as only one fight could manage that colossal feat.
Donald Trump fighting Joe Biden. Both parties have expressed interest in the fight, and the entire country would tune in to see which man could back up his words. They could sell it as a grudge match between political foes, and America would eat it up. Myself included.
And the match isn’t unrealistic. They’re close enough in age and experience, and both hail from a time when boxing reigned supreme. It’s a great matchup. Again, they’ve already exchanged fightin’ words, why hasn’t a promoter stepped up to make this happen? Mayweather? Rough and Rowdy? Bueller?
My suggestion is queensbury rules. Four (3) minute rounds. Not that I suspect the bout would go the distance. And the competitors would be required to wear t-shirts during the fight, because, well, no one should pay $75 for a PPV and have to see that. They could use the prize money to fund their own crooked political parties.
It’d be a real shame if the fight never comes to fruition, and an opportunity missed. Fights of this magnitude have a small window after all. The billion dollar fight.
