THE PRESIDENT IS COOL
I don’t know or care where people stand politically, but I personally view the whole thing as a spectacle. To me, it’s pro wrestling for old rich guys. Very Jerry Springer. I cannot, do not, and will not take it seriously. I actually prefer it how it is. Inverted, ass backwards, and on its head where it belongs.
I love Donald Trump as president. Far as I’m concerned, the president is cool. Do I support him? Nah, but he’s a great character in the show. The greatest heel in history. This guy had a reality show and wrassled in the WWE BEFORE he was president. Before. We wanted the big drama show, and we got it.
I like em all though, at least since I’ve been alive. Clinton. Are you kidding me? That guy was brilliant. The bit where he got a blowjob from a woman other than his wife was genius. I know, I know, that’s really tame now. But back then? The president set the precedent man. Nobody else was doing that back then, at least the presidents. I don’t mean cheating, I mean getting caught. They control the media and the media controls the narrative. So he knew, and they worked it into the story. Bill Clinton’s heel turn was classic because the president is cool.
Bush. I loved that they went the comedy route for this one. Why not? The show needed some funny, so they went low brow. Let’s do the dim witted hillbilly angle.
“You mean George? Yeah, why not? He’s hilarious.”
“That’d be like having Forrest Gump as president.”
“Exactly, you wouldn’t watch that?” Boom, first comedic president.
Obama was funny as hell, with way more self awareness than the average president, which he certainly needed as a black man. Obama was a throwback to older presidents in the sense that he could formulate grammatically correct sentences without reverting to Bushisms or Trumpisms.
That’s how little we value the English language in this country. Two of the past 3 presidents have had ‘ism’ attached to their last names so we can understand what they are talking about.
“What did he say?”
“Oh, it was a ugh, Trumpism.”
But I still say Trump is the greatest president since I’ve been alive, from my perspective, which is that the system is terminal and nothing really matters so we might as well have entertaining psychos in office while we ride out the decline of our species. From that perspective, Trump is the greatest president of the last 30 years, easily. Our president is cool.
But I do think we need to acknowledge the direction we’ve taken the position of president in this country. Look back at history, and without being nostalgic or brain washed by the American Public Schooling system, just compare presidents in terms of intellect.
Abraham Lincoln’s writing, are you kidding me?
“Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth onto this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” He wrote that. Can you imagine Trump attempting a literary writing style?
“A long time ago, very long, if you measure it in time, so long ago. Our forefathers made a great nation. Such a great nation. Great men, our founding forefathers…
Not three, four fathers!” -Something President Trump might say.
America as a company has a ton of upside and serious management problems. Where’d that trillion dollars go? Huh? The citizens aren’t as bad as the media makes us out to be. They seek out goofballs and idiots so they can misrepresent us and make us think we’re dumb. That’s standard operating procedure when the real idiots are you.
America is a giant corporation, so as long as you live and work in here, you work for America. And most of the regular employees (the people) are cool as hell. I meet nothing but good apples here, but we have zero power. None whatsoever.
So Congress sits at a 10% approval rating and maintains their 90% re election rate, and nothing really ever changes.
It is what it is, that’s my perspective of it. The people create solutions for all the problems government makes, government won’t enact the solutions themselves and often times actively prevents the enactment of such solutions, all while creating a bigger and bigger pile of shit for some unborn generation of humans to try and clean up on down the line.
But hey, freedom right? Can’t blame management when we voted em in. That’s why I don’t vote. I think it’s out of the people’s hands entirely. The choices always suck, but if you vote then you’re told you can’t criticize because you voted for em. Then you’re told you can’t complain if you don’t vote, which is bullshit. I don’t vote strictly so I can complain. My vote is worthless, my voice isn’t. I’m not compromised politically by an emotional bias for a certain candidate and I have no skin in this game, I’m just commenting on what I see.
And what I see is an out of control spectacle teetering on the edge of a black swan precipice. Said all that to say this; I dig the president we have now and the one we had before. Long live the system, and all hail the spectacle. The president is cool.
