WILDER EXHAUSTED BY COSTUME
Deontay Wilder lost the WBC heavyweight title to Tyson Fury, in large part because of the weight of his costume. The costume itself is actually preliminary military technology, akin to the Iron Man costume from the Marvel movies.
It weighs almost 400 pounds, and is equipped with jet propulsion technology and a whole lot of firepower. Unfortunately for Wilder, the suit is supposed to be flown, not walked in. And this would lead to his demise.
After dragging the Adamantium suit all the way down the aisle and to the ring, Wilder was physically exhausted. What followed was what one might expect from a fatigued combatant, as Wilder slipped and stumbled all over the ring en route to a 7th round TKO defeat.
It appears Wilder will exercise his rematch clause, claiming his legs are significantly stronger now having walked in such a heavy costume. And he says he will wear it again for the third fight, with one minor adjustment.
“I’ma fly that bitch.”
